ERGOLINE Passive seating system

Variable care for a positive development

The ERGOLINE seating system is suited on the one hand for patients who, despite physical limitations, are very active and whose movement sequences can be therapeutically encouraged and improved. On the other hand, it can, however, also be designed such that it serves as a passive system for fully restricted and immobile patients. Whether as a seat in a wheelchair, on a therapy chair or by means of the trapezoid adapter on the SIMPLY or ROOMY NEW EDITION undercarriages, the possible uses are numerous and offer maximum flexibility.

Individuality through precision work

The ERGOLINE seat shell consists of one seat and back unit each from aluminium, as well as dimensioned upholstery with a cover fabric of your choice. In addition, there is a comprehensive range of special accessories, such as fixation material, padding, support aids for head, trunk, pelvis, arms, legs and feet, for adaptation to the respective handicap and the degree of activity of the patient.

Form and function of ERGOLINE are well thought out The two-part seat upholstery, individually adapted to the requirements of the patient, is mounted on the seat and back unit of the angle-adjustable aluminium shell. Two hinges connect the seat shell parts and enable variable adjustment of the sitting angle.

Sitting comfort thanks to high-quality materials

Cold foam is used for the basic upholstery. If required from a medical point of view, flexible foam or relax foam can be used as an option. The two upholstery elements are each equipped with active-breathing, removable and washable fabric. As a result, not only the hygiene but also the durability of the materials are considerably improved.

Medical requirements

The seating aid is used for insured parties with whom the assumption of the sitting position is either difficult or disturbed in the physiological sense, or is impossible as a result of anatomic changes, because the interaction of pelvis and spinal column shows functional deficiencies, either as a result of inborn or acquired deformation of the supporting structure (osseous or joint structures) or through inborn or acquired insuffi ciencies of the movement system, of the pelvis and/or of the spinal column.

  • Loss of body functions through spasticity
  • Athetosis
  • Transverse lesion of the cord with paraplegia
  • Plegias
  • Hypertonias
  • Hypertonia
  • All muscle diseases, e.g. muscular dystrophy
  • Skeletal deformation and loss of extremities
  • All neurological diseases
  • All forms of mental handicap

Seating aids help compensate pronounced errors and / or instabilities of the sitting posture.

They enable lasting, complaint-free sitting in a physiological position. In cases of severely reduced or a complete lack of stability of the trunk, or in cases of pronounced deformity of the trunk, they enable corrected and relieved sitting.

The ERGOLINE ® seating system is adapted to the individual requirements of the patient and manufactured accordingly. Alternatively, it can be designed as a placeon unit for an active wheelchair or seat shell wheelchair. Passive ERGOLINE ® seating systems are usually made of 2, 3 or 4 mm aluminum and adapted on a seat base. A wide range of accessories is available to allow a good sitting posture and bearing according to the needs of the patients. A passive Ergoline can for example also be designed as a bed care.

ERGOLINE ® seating systems are individual configured according to the individual measurements and needs.

Medical Device Directive

The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds is the central lobby of the statutory health insurance and long-term care insurance funds in Germany. It issues the medical device directive considering all relevant regulations. This directory is continuously updated. All available products are assigned to different product groups defined by field of application.

All manufacturers have the opportunity to apply their products for registration in the medical device directive. It is required that those products fulfil certain criteria as well as quality standards. The quality standard requirements are published in the product groups and service requirements are defined (§139 SGB V).

Every product group contains a classification and a definition with legal indemnification descriptions and indications that justify a care.

By integration into the medical device directive, it is guaranteed that the care takes place demand-driven, quality-ensured and continuous and follows up-to-date medical know-how (§70 SGB V).

The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Funds has created an online version of the medical device directive according to § 139 SGB V. Interested parties can comfortably and well-directed retrieve, sort, filter and print all information.

But it is imperative: The reimbursement of medical devices by statutory health insurances is only possible when the product is listed in the medical device directive. However, the medical device directive is not legally binding. It only has an informative character and it delivers broad information on the compulsory treaty indemnity and the nature and quality of available products.

All supporting documents for the product ERGOLINE passive were delivered and the registry was successfully approved: The position number is 26.11.03.0001.
